Angel DeSalvo Hensal, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully Nov. 2, 2009. Angel was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Todero DeSalvo; and father, Carl DeSalvo; along with brothers and sisters, Capt. Russell DeSalvo, Francis Taravella, Anthony DeSalvo, Lucille Tizarelli, Ciro DeSalvo, Joseph DeSalvo (her twin) and Pettrina Biggi. Survived by sister, Helen Stuka. Her daughters are Jennifer Cortner and Cynthia Renier; and grandchildren, Melanie Ness, Christopher Ness, Angela Engel and Stosh Cortner; great-grandchildren are Grace Engel, Sophie Engel, Dylan Ness and Joshua Ness. Angel was devoted to the loving care of her family. They were the light of her life. She began her civil service career at the Pueblo Army Depot, and retired from Fort Carson where she was a procurement supervisor. We, along with numerous nieces and nephews, turn her sweet soul over to the angels that guard her. Rosary, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, and funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2009; both at the Shrine of St. Therese. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery with a reception to follow at Shrine of St. Therese. She carried us through life, now we carry her home. Arrangements under the direction of George McCarthy Funeral Home.
