Mr. Ottis Hilton Prescott, 71 of Crossett, AR died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Millport, AL but a resident of Crossett, AR for the past 61 years.

He was a retired master carpenter, an avid fisherman, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Prescott loved the Lord first and his grandson Benjamin was his second love. He also enjoyed carpentry work.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years: Virginia Christine Prescott (married November 12, 1956 in Greenville, MS); his parents: Linley Undis and Gertrude Lee Prescott; one brother: Kenneth Prescott; four sisters: Frances Mosley, Minnie Carolyn Sexton, Vivian Ruffin, and Virginia Faye Faulk; and one nephew: Jerry Leon Barnett.

He is survived by one daughter: Sharon Prescott Rogers of Watson, AR; one brother: Raymond Prescott and wife Margaret of Dorchester, SC; five sisters: Lou Nell Faulk of Crossett, AR, Betty Collier of Highland Home, AL, Linnie Earl Blackwell of Montgomery, AL, Martha Harrod of Montgomery, AL, and Sue Holey of Crossett, AR; one grandson: Benjamin Ross Burgess of Crossett, AR and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Friday, December 31, 2010 at 3:30P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Grantham officiating.

Active pallbearers were Eugene Barnett, Michael Burnside, L.D. Prescott, Robert Earl Prescott, Junior Burden, and David Miles, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were his nephews. Interment was at Simms Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.

An error is made on his dates of military service on his headstone. It says "1959-1964," but should read "1956-1964."
