Mary Hymes was married to Richard Ridgley and they came from Maryland to Ohio around Wooster in 1822 and then came to Illinois in 1839. Both she and her husband were Baptized into the Reformed Church Dec. 19, 1805. They were the parents of twelve children: George W., Anne Basford, Sarah Ann (Benjamin) Doan, Daniel, Rebecca Johnson, Westall, Richard, Elias, Elizabeth Kidd, Ezra, Mary Ann Jones, and John Lawrence. (The names of the Children were taken from Richard Ridgley's last will and testament probated in Lawrence county, IL, Will Record B, page 103.) There is no tombstone.
