1936 - 2010
Service:
Tuesday, December 28, 2010 10:30 AM
Cross Point Assembly God Church

On Wednesday, December 22, 2010, Carol D. Anderson, of Spring Hill, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 74. She courageously battled pancreatic cancer for 16 months under the exceptional care of Dr. Singh and the staff at Research Medical Center.
Carol was born June 10, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the loving daughter of Buford Edward and Mildred Bernice Shank Braly.
Carol's greatest joys came from her relationship with Jesus and from her pride in her family. Carol was a member of Cross Point Assembly of God Church in Paola at the time of her death and previously was a long-time member of Shawnee Church of the Nazarene, where she was the volunteer organist for over 25 years. She devoted much time to Bible study and prayer, often in the company of her many friends at church and with the assistance of her beloved pastors.
Carol is survived by her three daughters, Denise Sprague of Spring Hill, Liz (Ted) Lockhart of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jenny (Jim) Adkins of Paola; sister, Elaine (Ken) Matson, of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren Mike Sprague and Kayla (Jeff) Morris of Spring Hill; grandchildren TC, Nicholas, Madelynne and Annabella Lockhart of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Alec, Cody, Julia, Caroline and Katherine Adkins of Paola; niece Kristine (Michael) King of Mobile, Alabama; nephew Neil (Jill) Matson of Panama City, Florida; and three great grandchildren and three great nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Willard G. Anderson.
She worked for Browning Motors for many years before joining her son-in-law and staff at the State Farm Office in Paola as a receptionist, greeting and helping customers for over 7 years.
Carol loved playing the piano, reading the Bible, raising and showing Afghan Hounds, growing roses and watching football on television. She was devoted to her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services are Tuesday, December 28, 10:30 a.m. at Cross Point Church in Paola and arrangements were handled by Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Paola. Memorials may be made to the Miami County Chapter of the American Cancer Society or Cross Point Assembly of God Church in Carol's honor.
