ABELS, MARGIE LeBOURGEOIS
Retired chief deputy assessor of Livingston Parish and a resident of
Hammond, she died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
She was 83 and a native of Bear Island. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son
Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, Thursday, March 24, from 9 a.m. until religious
service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Warren Fortenberry. Interment in
Maurepas Cemetery. She is survived by a son, Charles "Charlie" Abels Jr.,
Hammond; three sisters, Gladys Reinhardt and Eunice Broussard, both of New
Orleans, and Myrtle Peco, Hammond; three grandchildren, Charles Abels III,
Denham Springs, Lois DeEtte Abels, Batchelor, and Rebecca Ann Abels,
Hammond; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents,
Eugene and Noalie Dupuy LeBourgeois; a sister, Marguerite Baham; and a
brother, Earl LeBourgeois.
