William Weston Lasswell died Friday, August 25, 2000, at the LaBelle Manor Care Center, LaBelle. Born February 10, 1912, in Lewis County, he was a son of Edward and Addie Mae Kerfoot Lasswell. Mr. Lasswell was a graduate of Lewistown High School. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star. He lived most of his adult life in California where he was employed in the petroleum industry. He later lived in Kansas City before retiring to the LaBelle area. He attended the Liberty Baptist Church near Williamstown. Survivors include a brother, Julian Lasswell, LaBelle; two sisters, Virginia Fletcher, Boise, Idaho and Lola Stuller, Milwaukee, Wis.; six nephews including two in LaBelle and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Leland, Milton, Ernest and Forest Laswell. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2000, at the Liberty Church Cemetery, near Williamstown, with the Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiating. Pallbearers were his nephews.
