Julian R. Lasswell, 94, LaBelle, died Monday, October 23, 2000, at the LaBelle Manor Care Center. Bron November 19, 1905, at Lewistown, he was the son of Edward and Addie Mae Kerfoot Lasswell. Mr. Lasswell attended rural Lewis County grade schools and was a graduate of Lewistown High School. During World War II he served as a corporal in the Army Air Corp. For forty years Julian was self-employed in construction work as an operative plasters and cement mason in the Dallas, Texas area. After his retirement he returned to Lewis County, where he resided for the past thirty-five years. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Williamstown; Williamstown Lodge #370 A.F. and A.M.; Scottish Rite Consistory of San Antonio, Texas; Williamstown Chapter #547 Order of the Eastern Star; and the LaBelle American Letgion Post #200. Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Fletcher, Boise, Idaho and Lola Stuller, Milwaukee, Wis.; seven nephews; and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Leland, William, Ernest, Milton, and Forest Lasswell. A Masonic service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2000 at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, conducted by Williamstown Lodge #370 A.F. and A.M. Funeral services immediately followed, officiated by Rev. Ernest Deatrick. Visitation will be held after 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, until time of service at the Coder Funeral Chapel, LaBelle.
