Anna Christina Kohl was born in 1852 in PA and died in 1940 in NE.

I believe that Anna's parents were Henry Kohl and Mary J. Ludwig Kohl. Both parents born in PA but died in KS. Anna had several siblings: David, John, Jacob, Joseph, Henry, Tilman, Francis, Mary & Eliza. This family also lived in Iowa. Henry was a minister in Iowa as well as in KS.

Annie, as she was called, I believe had only one child, a daughter: Mary J. (called Molly). Both Mary and her husband, Abraham Simon (my great grandfather's brother) are also buried here at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Scant information I have says that Annie was married to a Pete Wine (that name is listed on Mary's death certificate as her father). Annie was also married to a John Childers but they divorced on 16 October 1886 @ Belleville, KS. Annie then married Levi Woodruff (1844-1912). He is also buried here at Tecumseh Cemetery next to his first wife (Irena Isabella Payne Woodruff 1845-1898).

Updated information (11/21/16): I found Annie, John Childers & daughter Mary J. (age 9) listed on the 1880 census living in Big Bend, Republic Co, KS. As daughter Mary is now 9 years old, I suppose it was possible that Annie gave birth at age 14 years . . . but where does Pete Wine, who is listed on Mary's birth certificate, come into this picture. This same census also lists Mary as being born in Iowa, and my information states she was born in IL. Another mystery waiting to be solved.

10/5/21 - On Tilman Kohl's obit, dated 1914, Annie is still going by the name of Anna Childers and living in NE. So when did she marry Levi Woodruff? Perhaps the family did not realize she had divorced John Childers and remarried.
