Obituary:
Mrs. Mary Kohl, died at her home at Republic City on Thursday morning May 17th aged about 80 years. Mrs. Kohl has been feeble for several years past and while her death came rather unexpected yet, in a manner, it was not unlooked for. Mrs. Kohl's maiden name was Ludwig and she was born in Banks [Berks?] Co., Pa. March 26th, 1814. She was married to Henry Kohl Jan 12th, 1936 and there were born eleven children, 9 of whom survive them. Her husband died 8 to 10 years ago, at this place.

The funeral services over the remains of old lady Kohl were held at the U. B. church, on Saturday, and were attended by a large congregation. The burial was at Lake Cemetery.
