In 1810 he and his parents, two brothers, and a sister lived on a farm in Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, PA. Also living with them were a male, age 16-26, and a female, age 10-16, who are guessed to be his father's brother, age about 20, and his young wife, age 16.

In 1820 he and his parents and seven siblings lived there.

In 1830 he was listed as John Boney, and it's impossible all these years later to determine who the other members of the household are. He married Eleanor Bradford November 28, 1830 in Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, PA.

In 1840 he was listed as John Boner--but his brother, two houses away, is shown as Charles Bonner. He and his wife and their five children still lived on the farm in Buffalo Township.

In 1850 he and his second wife and six of his children--their two and four from his first marriage--lived there. Buffalo Township had split into South and North, which is where they were located. His daughter Eliza lived with his sister Nancy McGarvey and her family. He owned real estate valued at $2000.

In 1860 he and Sarah, their three children, and his son Samuel from his first marriage lived on a farm in Franklin Township. On June 24, 1868 one of his first wife's brothers, Samuel Bradford, conveyed 136 acres and 59 perches of the eastern part of the Bradford land to him for $1,185.

In 1870 he and Sarah and their daughter Dorcas lived there. Franklin Township had split into East and West, which is where they were located. He owned $3000 worth of real property and $900 worth of personal property.

In 1880 he and his wife, their daughter Dorcas Campbell, and their grandson George Perry Campbell lived there.
