The organization "Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War" ordered 7 new government gravestones and Boy Scout Troop 28 from North Aurora, IL installed those on May 14, 2016 along with cleaning and straightening existing Civil War gravestones. Anthony Hernandez, a boy scout from troop 28 received his Eagle Scout status for taking charge of this project. There will be a dedication ceremony for this project on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. dedicating the 7 new gravestones and honoring all 24 Civil War Veterans at the cemetery.
