Stanley Leroy Ruby was born September 28, 1941 to Homer and Vera (Volz) Ruby in Highmore, SD. He lived in many places before moving to Sioux Falls, SD where he worked for Lumberman's Supply.

Stanley was united in marriage with LaVae Mutschelknaus on September 1, 1974 at Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. He worked for Lloyd Property Management at River Tower for eighteen years.

Stanley and LaVae enjoyed being a part of the Spares and Pairs Square Dancing Group. He was also an avid gold prospector who liked to make his own equipment. His other hobbies included working in the yard and watching old westerns. Together, he and LaVae loved visiting friends and relatives. Stan was known as the "bicycle man" in the Terry Redlin area of Sioux Falls. He would repair and refurbish old bikes to sell them inexpensively to people in the neighborhood.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, LaVae Ruby, Sioux Falls, SD; his mother, Vera Wise, Pierre, SD; his sister, Gloria Cottrill, Sioux Falls, SD; his brothers, Clyde Ruby, Mitchell, SD, and Frank Wise, Denver, CO; his foster family, Gen Kapsch and family; many nieces and nephews, his cat, Carrots, and a host of relatives and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Homer, his sister, Gayle Ruby-Flemming, and his foster father, Hank Kapsch.

LaVae would like to extend a special thanks to their neighbors for all their love and support.
