Frances S. Leonhardt
Frances S. Leonhardt, 83, formerly of 188 Mary's Ave., Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at ManorCare Health Services, Fond du Lac.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1923, in Wilmington, Del., a daughter of the late William and Lucy Murray Simmons.
On Sept. 2, 1944, she married Marvin O. Leonhardt in Wilmington, Del.
Frances worked as a secretary at First Wisconsin Bank for many years. She was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church, Fond du Lac, and active in their choir. She enjoyed bowling and golfing, and she was a joy to all who knew her.
She is survived by a sister, Jean (Joe) Gawinski of Delaware; a nephew, Maury Nelson; four "great" nieces, Maureen (Leath) Sheppard, Kathy (Dennis) Reitz, Vicki (Tom Penfield) Nelson and Sue (Bob) Galle; other nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Simmons of Delaware and Alma Simmons of Ohio. She is further survived by her husband's sister, Caroline Leonhardt; his two brothers, Arlin (Agnes) Leonhardt and Luke (Jean) Leonhardt, all of Fond du Lac; a nephew, Kurt Leonhardt; and a niece, Karen (Mike) Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Leonhardt on Sept. 16, 2004; two daughters, Joyce Jones and Barbara (Jerry) Cotter; a grandson, Anthony Cotter; four brothers, Harry, Bill, Bob and George; four sisters, Elizabeth, Delphine, Virginia and Jerry; and a special niece, Betty Nelson.
# Services: The funeral service will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, with the Rev. David Naumann officiating. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
# Visitation: The family will greet relatives and friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Mach Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
