Elizabeth Foster Miller, military wife and homemaker, died on December 27, 2010. She was born in Davidson County, North Carolina, December 31, 1929, the third daughter of Loyd Tillman Foster and Louise McMahan Foster. In 1947, she graduated from Reeds High School. In 1948, she married Fred A. Miller. A few years after completing an enlistment in the United States Army, Fred joined the Air Force. His Air Force career meant that Elizabeth (he called her Lib), made homes in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Massachusetts, Florida and Missouri as well as Great Britain and Tripoli, Libya.

Mrs. Miller was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ in each place. Fred died in 1989 in North Charleston, South Carolina where they had retired. Mrs. Miller was also predeceased by her daughter, Barbara and four of her sisters: Marjorie, Geraldine, Carolyn, and Edith as well as their brother Charles.

In addition to a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins, she is survived by her son, Doug and grandson, Zachary of San Diego, California and her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dan Proctor of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; one sister Nancy Foster Trollinger of Lexington.. She is also survived by a grandson, Josh Proctor and his wife Darenda of Elm City, and her granddaughter, Jessica Willis and husband Dave of Spring Hope, North Carolina. Seven great-grandchildren who loved and helped care for their Grandmother are: Casey, Caitlin, Kendall and Caleb Proctor and Victoria Elizabeth, Elaina and Liam Willis.
