NOTE: This is his original headstone. There is a duplicate Find A Grave Memorial #10709557 which shows a picture of a cenotaph (memorial marker), located in the Texas State Cemetery for this person, with a birth year of 1810, which differs from the 1819 date noted on this marker. Although the birth years are off, the death date and the description of the man, Judge in Fayette County, are both the same. Birth year appears to have been sometime between 1805-1810 according to census records.

Possible middle names of "Hampton" (contributed by Dawn Kelly), or "Henry" (sourced on memorial created by Marilyn Hay for his son, who is noted to be a "Jr.")
