Paul E. Inglish, auditor with the State Social Security commission, died suddenly at home, 1720 West Main street shortly after 5 o'clock Saturday evening of a heart attack.
Mr. Inglish was subject to heart trouble but was at his office yesterday morning and during the afternoon busied himself around the home. He died a few minutes after he was stricken.
A world war veteran and Central Missouri banker and businessman he was widely known.
He was born at Barnett in Morgan County, June 26, 1889. He was educated in the public schools at Olean in Miller County and in Westminster College. Upon his graduation he entered the Miller County Exchange Bank as cashier to succeed his father, the late Sumter R. Inglish, who had been killed in a train wreck near California a short time before.
He was president of the Blakeman-Walser Mercantile Company of California for several years. He came to Jefferson City to assume the position of auditor with the social security commission in 1934.
He was a member of the 89th division during the world war.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Christian Church at Olean.
He is survived by his wife who was before their marriage June 1, 1911 was Miss Camaine Walser and one son, Sumter R. Inglish, of Minneapolis, Minn. There are two sisters, Mrs. H.A. Smith of Nelson and Mrs. Mabel B. Crum of Jefferson City.
