Mr. Carr was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Angelina County, Texas, and died December 24, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Carr was retired from Temple Associates, following 20 years of service. He was the owner of Wayne's Welding and Repair. He served with the U S Army Medical Corp in the Panama Canal Zone from 1947 to 1950. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He had been a resident of Angelina County most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Carr of Lufkin, sons and daughters-in-law, Robert an Connie Carr of Wharton, Texas, Donald and Cathy Carr of Lufkin; stepdaughter and husband, Linda and O. J. Grice of Houston; two other stepdaughters and four stepsons; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Calhoun, Mary Talley; Dean Ferguson, all of Lufkin, and Norma Dale Gurganus of Huntington, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian (Mathis) and William Carr, his first wife, Billie Carr, on March 22, 1992; his son, Lester Carr, on Dec. 27, 1977; and his brother, Mural Carr, a World War Ii Prisoner of War, on May 18, 1942.
