PVT. HIGGINS' BODY ARRIVES HERE TODAY
The body of Private Russell L. Higgins, who was killed on August 24, 1944 while serving with the Infantry in France will arrive at Big Spring at 12:30 p.m. today for Burial in Blairs Valley.

Private Higgins, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Higgins, Blairs Valley, was inducted into the service in January, 1944, and received his basic training at Camp Blandenburg, Fla. He was first sent to England and then to France, where he met his death.

He was employed at the North American Cement Corporation before entering the service.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the Blairs Valley Church of God, the Reverends Ring and Huffman officiating. Interment will be in the Blairs Valley cemetery. The body will rest at the home until Sunday noon, when it will be taken to the church, where it will lie in state until the time of the funeral.

Private Higgins is survived by the following: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Higgins, children, Maetta, Paul, Archie, Kenneth and Devonia; sisters, Mrs. Raymond Titus, Baltimore; Mrs. Stewart Malpass, Baltimore; Mrs. Norris Belt, Clearspring; and Miss Ollie Higgins, at home; brothers, Willard, Blairs Valley; Henry, California, and Fred, Lewis and Lester, all at home.
