Daughter of Walton and Julia Viola Brown Ammons, wife of John Felder Clark.

DARLINGTON - Mrs. Katie Ammons Clark, 91, widow of John Felder Clark, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at Bethea Baptist Healthcare Center after a long illness.

Mrs. Clark was born October 4, 1919, in Marion, the 13th child of Walton and Viola Brown Ammons.

She was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked at the McLeod Infirmary Admitting Office and retired from the former Union Carbide, now ESAB. She has been a resident at Bethea since 1986.

She is survived by two daughters, Becky Clark (Dwight) Lindley and Martha Clark Barwick of Florence; and 3 grandchildren.

Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings and son-in-law, Doug Barwick.

Mrs. Clark donated her body to the School of Medicine, University of South Carolina, for arthritis research. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 27 at 3:00 in the Bethea Chapel.
