Dillsburg, June 11, 1916
Mrs. Elizabeth Burtner, aged 82 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Catherine Grossman, last evening at 6:45 o'clock. Death was due to pneumonia. Mrs. Burtner is survived by these children: John Burtner, Monroe township, Cumberland county; Mrs. William Moorehead, Franklin township; Mrs. George Keister, Lemoyne; Mrs. William H. Baker, Dillsburg; and Mrs. Grossman with whom she resided at the time of her death. One brother and two sisters also survive: George Kapp, Mt. Royal Mrs. George Slothour, Lemoyne, and Mrs, Amelia Reiver, Harrisburg. The funeral will be held Tuesday from the house. Interment in the Franklin cemetery. The service will be conducted by Rev. George H. Eveler.

Mrs. Elizabeth Burtner, an aged and highly respected lady, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Catherine Grossman, on S. Second Street, Saturday evening, aged 81 years, 4 months and 5 days. Mrs. Burtner had been in poor health for several months.

The deceased is survived by the following children: Mrs. Catherine Grossman, Mrs. W. H. Baker, Mrs. J. W. Moorehead, Dillsburg, Mrs. George Keister, Lemoyne, and John W. Burtner, Dillsburg, also by two sisters, and a brother, Mrs. George Slothower, Lemoyne, Mrs. Amelia Reiver, Harrisburg, and G. W. Kapp, Mount Royal.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, with services and interment at Franklin. Rev. G. H. Eveler of the Lutheran Church conducted the services and the pallbearers were Mssrs. J. W. Moorehead, George Keister, Wm. H. Baker, John W. Burtner, John W. Elicker, and J. S. Kapp. S. H. Klugh was the funeral director. The attendance of relatives and friends was large, many present being from a distance.

Mrs. Burtner selected the hymns to be sung at her funeral and also the text for the discourse, which was II Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith."
