Beatrice "Betty" Gritten, 89, of Remington, died at 1:49 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette.
She was born on May 9, 1921, near Casey, Il. to the late Norman and Nellie Davis. She married Charlie Gritten on Dec. 14, 1940 in Illinois. He died in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Derald Davis.
Surviving are four children, Vera Louise Largen (husband: Darrell) of Marcellus, Michigan, Clarence Norman Gritten (wife: Catherine) and Paul Richard Gritten (wife: Linda), both of Lafayette, and Donald Lee Gritten (wife: Jan) of Waco, Texas; a stepdaughter, Audrey Cantwell of Tuscola, Il.; two brothers, Theodore Davis (wife: Maxine) of Smyrna, Tennessee and Hugh Davis (wife: Linda) of Monon; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
