Richard Aikin

Richard Aikin, 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Community Hospital East. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Joplin, Mo. His parents were Roy and Viola (Drennan) Aikin. He married Evelyn Aikin. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Roy Aikin of Greenwood, Robert Aikin of Terre Haute and Roger Aikin of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Charles Aikin of Red Lion, Pa.; and a grandson.

He retired from Western Electric as a chemical engineer.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Hendryx Mortuary, 11636 E. Washington St. in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service today at the mortuary. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
