She was born November 21, 1920 in Oark, Arkansas, to William Charles Myers and Minnie Lee Kirkland Myers. When Marie was about two and a half her family relocated to Idaho, making their home in the Arimo area, where she attended school.
On September 4, 1937 she married Verl Peter Parris in Malad, Idaho. In 1954 they moved to the Blackfoot area. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1983.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served as a Primary teacher and in the Relief Society .
Marie's main occupation was being a homemaker but she also worked 24 years at Tee Pee Potato and Sunspiced Potato.
She enjoyed painting, quilting and playing bingo at the Senior Citizen Center.
She is survived by her children: Mitchell (Ruth) Parris, of Pingree, Daniel Earl (JoAnn) Parris, of Phoenix, Ariz., Jacob D. (Monita) Parris, of Blackfoot, Patricia Grimmett, of Moreland, LuAnn (Don) Huffman, of Boardman, Ore., two daughters-in-law, Cindy Parris, of Ruebens, Ida. and Judy Parris, of Ariz., 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verl, three sons, Ben and Roland, and Delbert "Red", six brothers, Samuel, Noah, Tommy, J.C., Handford, Henry and two sisters, Molly and Martha.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Hawker Funeral Home The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 and again for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
