Mrs. Mahaley Ford, widely known Decatur resident, died at 6:45 this morning at her home, 1513 6th Avenue, south, after a long illness. She was 87 years old.
Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon beginning at 2:30 at Brown's Chapel. Reverend W.L. Spearman will officiate. Burial will take place at City Cemetery with Brown directing.
Mrs. Ford is survived by seven grandchildren: Mrs. Owen Butler, of Decatur, Mrs. Raymond Ward, of Decatur, Mrs. L. Doughett, of Birmingham, Mrs. Grace Ford, Mrs. Virginia Ford, Archie Vest, and Gilbert Ford, all of Decatur; a great-grandchild, Shirley Butler, of Decatur; and a son-in-law, J.S. Acker, of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Frank Lewis, J.A. Creel, J.W. Flowers, Dalton Smith, C.W. Smith and S.J. Rainey.
