She was born Sept. 17, 1968, in Pekin to Ronald Lee and Ramona Evelyn Wells Caruso.
Surviving are her father, Ronald Caruso of Washburn; her mother and "other" father, Ramona and Bill Howard of Pekin; two daughters, Felicia Stone and Tory Stone, both of Pekin; one son, Jimmy Cross of Pekin; one brother, Chad Lee Caruso of Pekin; one half-sister, Carla Promison of Bushnell; grandparents, Vernie and Doris Shallenberger of Pekin; three aunts, Regina (Johnny) Martin of Pekin, Frankie (Robert) Freeman of South Pekin and Lynn Caruso of Manito; two uncles, John (Debbie) Shallenberger of Creve Coeur and Michael (Linda) Caruso of Benton, Ky.; and Christina Gibson of Pekin, whom she helped raise.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray T. Wells, Arla Webster and William Caruso; her mother-in-law, Sandra Wolfe; and uncle, Gary Shallenberger.
Rhonda worked for the city of Pekin as the inventory control clerk in the vehicle maintenance department for the past 10 years, last working Dec. 10, 2010. She also had tended bar at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232 in Pekin. Previously, she worked as the manager of the Freedom Oil Co. on South Second Street in Pekin and at Koenig Body & Equipment in Peoria.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232 Ladies Auxiliary in Pekin, Teamsters Local 627, and was a life member of the VFW National Home.
Rhonda loved animals and was a Minnesota Vikings football fan. She was a very loving mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Entombment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Pekin.
