Beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Walter).

Dear father of Kathleen Brus (James), Jeffrey La Pratt (Madeline), Michele, Gerianne Perreault (Robert), Gregory, Renee Jaczkowski (Jeffrey), and the late James P. La Pratt (deceased Sept 5, 2001).

Loving grandfather of Matthew, Kimberly, Amanda, Nicole, Jeffrey, Catherine, Joann, Lauren, Anna, Dylan, Connor, Mary, Jillian, and Abigail; great-grandfather of Colin.

Also survived by two sisters and one brother.

Mr. La Pratt was a decorated U. S. Naval Veteran, receiving a Purple Heart during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from the Grosse Pointe Park Police department as a detective sergeant after 35 years of service.

Mr. La Pratt was past President of the Fraternal Order of Police and a member of Detroit Elks #34 B.P.O.E.

He always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. His hobbies included travelling, hunting, fishing.

He and Mrs. LaPratt enjoyed going antiquing together.
Buying and selling antiques became an enjoyable pastime.

Time away at his cabin was always found to be relaxing.


Visitation:
Tuesday 2-9 pm with a rosary 6:30 pm at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods.

In state:
Wednesday 10 am until time of funeral Mass 10:30 am at
St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6021 Whittier, Detroit.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to MDA/ALS.
