Fred Inman
Fred Inman, 65, husband of Mrs. Winnie Mae Vassey Inman, of 12 Wylie Street, died Friday night at 9:30 at Cherokee County Memorial Hospital after three years of declining health and three weeks of serious illness.
A native of Cowpens, he was a son of the late Mark and Emmaline Brock Inman He was retired from Musgrove Mills after 28 years. He was a member of Cowpens Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3 o'clock at the Shuford-Hatcher Chapel by the Revs. Harry Crosby and Paul Dobbins. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Drayton C. Painter, of Gaffney, and Mrs Thurman Mills, of Orlando, Florida; one son, Fred Inman, Jr., of Gaffney; one sister, Mrs. Annie D. Summers, of Cowpens; three brothers, Elmer, Bill and John Inman, all of Cowpens; one half-brother, H. W. Putman of Blacksburg; one half-sister, Mrs. Mamie Bradley,
of Cowpens; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Active pallbearers were Johnny Kluttz, John Stuard, Lewis Wyatt, Jerry Lee Painter. Ira Cabiness and Lee Hill.
