Neil Marlin Nuzman was born to Fred M. Nuzman and Nellie Pearl Schoonover Nuzman, he was born August 30, 1912, at Soldier, Kansas. He graduated from Soldier Rural High School and attended Kansas State College for two years. He taught school for two years and was assistant educational advisor for two years in the Civil Conservation Corps. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Showalter on July 19, 1936 at Fredonia.
Neil was employed for years at the American Oil Refinery in Neodesha. After the closing of the refinery, he worked for the City of Neodesha at the Water Works Plant and Fire Department. He was then employed by Cobalt Boats becoming the first company's retiree. He also managed the Rural Water Department for ten years.
He was a member of the Countryside Christian Church and was an active Mason. His memberships and offices were many. He was active in the recruitment of Neodesha High School band members for the annual Shrine Bowl Band.
Neil lost his spouse and then his daughter, Neiletta McGuire in 1989. He is survived by two sons, Neil M. Nuzman Jr. of Goldsboro, NC and Charles M. Nuzman of Neodesha; a daughter Judith M. Hinthorn of Independence; an adopted daughter, Alice Marie Watson of Omaha, Ne.; one sister Eula Rickle of Topeka; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was laid to rest in the Neodesha Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
