P.H. WOOLSEY Obituary
P.H. WOOLSEY, one of the oldest, most successful and well-known business men of Sullivan county, died at his home in Livingston Manor, of paralysis last Sunday at the advanced age of eighty years. Nearly all his life the deceased was closely and prominently identified with the lumbering business of this county from the balmiest rafting days up to his death, and for many years, both alone and associated with Peter MILLSPAUGH he practically controlled the lumber business at Livingston Manor and Debruce, which places have ever been the lumbering centers of the county. At the time of and for many years previous to his death he successfully conducted at Livingston Manor a large lumber yard and also the largest door, sash, and blind and general house-trimming factory in the county, the products thereof finding their way to all parts of the East. Associated with him at various times have also been his surviving sons, Wallie, Charles, and George S., the latter having most acceptably served one term as School Commissioner of the county, and the former being associated in business with his father at the time of his death.

Deceased was a native of Delaware County. He studied and practised medicine a number of years. He also fitted himself for the ministry and for several years occupied the Presbyterian pulpit at Livingston Manor. He has always been a liberal supporter of all matters pertaining to church and Sunday school advancement.

Some twenty years ago he published a book of religious songs of his own composition which me with and merited much favor. He recently established with his own capital an excellent water system for Livingston Manor and has always been prominent in all that would advance the social, moral and business interest of his town and county. Besides the three sons deceased is survived by his wife. The funeral services were held at his late home Tuesday morning.
