Son of Jesse F. and Virdie Fryar Abernathy. He was the pastor of Mt. Tabor Community Church in Hot Springs and had served in the ministry for 49 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Allen, Larry, Eugene, and Bobby Abernathy; and his daughter, LaTina. After the death of LaTina in 1979, he devoted his life to family ministry.
Pastor Isaac is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, his son, his daughter, three brothers and a sister; nine grandchildren and a host of beloved sons, daughters, and friends in Christ.
A memorial service was held at Mt. Tabor Community Church on Sunday, December 19. The funeral service was Monday, December 20, at the funeral home, with Pastors Paul Thompson and Mark Clark officiating.
