He was born April 3, 1885 in Lost Nation to John and Mary Wirth Leinbaugh. He married Anna Marie Kammer March 4, 1908 at Lost Nation. The couple farmed in the Tipton, Wheatland, and Lost Nation areas until returning to Lost Nation in 1940. His wife preceded him in 1969 and he has lived in Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Wheatland since 1970. He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church, Lost Nation.
Survivors include three sons, Gilbert, Lost Nation, Lloyd, Rockford and Paul Wheatland; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, a sister preceded him n death.
