Former Toombs County Agent Eston Daniels died suddenly Monday night,March 13, 1989, in Meadows Memorial Hospital. He was 66.

Mr. Daniels had served as Toombs County Extension Director for 25 years before retiring. He was a native of Tift County and a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church and a past teacher of the John Durst Sunday School Class. Mr. Daniels was also a past president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

He had moved to Higgston following his retirement from the University of Georgia Extension Department.

He is survived by his wife; Mrs. Marion Wilkes Daniels of Higgston; one son Danny(Kay)Daniels of Lyons; two daughters, Mrs. Gail(Rodney) Edenfield and Mrs. Debbie(Wayne) Johnson, both of Lyons; two step sons; Rev. Craig Wilkes of Columbia, S.C. and Steve Wilkes of Higgston; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two brothers; Ralph L. "Jake" Daniels of Tifton and Jack Daniels of Jacksonville,Fla; four sisters; Mrs. Mildred Bailey and Mrs. Inez McBrayer, both of Tifton,Ga; Mrs. Nall Hall of Nashville,Georgia and Mrs. Bobbie Terrell of Albany; his mother ;Mrs. Kate Daniels of Tifton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday at the Lyons First United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Wilkes and Rev. Carl Bishop officiating. Interment was in Lyons City Cemetery.

Jones-Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
