Commander,Sir Geoffrey Cecil Congreve DSO Bt. Was the son of General Sir Walter Norris Congreve, V.C., K.C.B., M.V.O. and of Lady Congreve (nee La Touche), of Chartley, Staffordshire; husband of Lady Congreve (nee Allhusen), of Chartley. Also served in the 1914-18 war. A.D.C. to G.O.C. in command Egypt and Palestine 1920-21.
His brother Maj William La Touche Congreve, also won the VC.
He is known as the commander of a trawler force that took part in the 1940 Namsos campaign. He was killed in 1941 in Operation Chess, a commando raid on France .
