Sandra Elizabeth Buckner, 57, of Englewood, died Friday, December 17, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native of North Carolina and resident of McMinn County for the past 35 years, she was a daughter of the late Ore Cook. She was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by a son, Danny "Shane" Buckner; and two brothers, Benton Cook and Dan Cook.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Buckner of Englewood; one son, Richard Buckner of Englewood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorie and Dale Sanders, and Melissa and Josh Mason, all of Englewood; her mother, Jimmy Cook, of Tellico Plains; 5 grandchildren, Dustin Buckner, Dakota Buckner, Kyla Bumbalo, Haley Sanders and Hunter Mason; three brothers, Ore Cook of McMinnville, Max Cook of Tellico Plains and Ronnie Cook of Tellico Plains; two sisters, Meb Marcus of North Carolina, and Ellery Davis of Tellico Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Benny Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21st and proceed to Mars Hill Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service.
