Native New Dorp resident Camille Morri, 66, of Annadale, a loving homemaker and retired bookkeeper, died Wednesday at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading, Pennsylvania of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Born Camille Vaccaro in West Brighton, she grew up in New Dorp. She attended PS 41, and after graduating from New Dorp High School in 1962, she began working for J. Henry Schroder & Co. as a bookkeeper.

She and Robert Morri wed in 1964 and the couple resided in Stapleton until 1966, when they moved to Annadale.In 1980, she moved back to New Dorp.

Also a homemaker, Mrs. Morri helped her husband establish Morri Construction Inc., and kept the books for the family-owned business for more than three decades. She retired with her husband in 2005.

She frequently went camping with her family and belonged to the Staten Island Romanies Camping Club during the 1970s. She also was a member of the Homebuilders' Wives Club.

Mrs. Morri enjoyed traveling with her husband to Pennsylvania and Florida, where they had vacation homes. She especially looked forward to visiting farms in Pennsylvania and shopping at the local farm markets.

She was an amazing cook who also loved sewing and taking care of her family.

"She took care of everyone around her, and made them feel loved and comfortable," said her daughter, Michelle Romano.

Mrs. Morri was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, New Dorp.

Surviving, along with Robert, her husband of forty-six years, and her daughter, Michelle, are her daughter, Barbara Bozza; her sons, Edward and James; a sister, Mary Sheriff; two brothers, Frank and William Vaccaro; and nine grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Monday from the Hanley Funeral Home, New Dorp, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.
Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, also New Dorp.
