He was born to John Frances and Elizabeth Harmon Hugo as "Thomas Hugo".

Part of the story that I can remember is that on his way over to America he had met a man with the last name of Hickman. Like many other people that was coming to America for fear of their lives he had decided to add the man's last name to his. So that is how he became Thomas Hugo Hickman.
He was the first born child out of nince children.

He married Louisa Catherine Mary Lynne 03 Jun 1862 in Toquerville, Washington, Utah.

Together they had the following eight children; Louisa Hugo, Elizabeth Harman, Thomas Hercules, Ester Tressey, Caroline Harriet, John Henry, Victor Hugo, and Charles Albert Hickman.

Ester Tressey married my Great Grandfather Henry Slyvester Wilcock.

I have a copy of the 16 page book that Thomas Hugo Hickman had wrote.
