SPEARMAN - Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Spearman for P.A. Lyon Sr., a resident of Hansford County for 60 years.
The Rev. Wesley Daniel, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in the Hansford Cemetery under direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman.
Mr. Lyon, 79, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the Hansford County Hospital.
He was an independent insurance agent and was owner and operator of the P.A. Lyon Insurance Agency in Spearman for about 50 years. He was born in Denton and was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Hansford Lodge, 1040, AF&AM.
A member of First United Methodist Church in Spearman, Mr. Lyon served as treasurer for the church for more than 40 years.
He married Grace Richardson in 1920 at Hansford.
Among survivors are his wife; a son, P.A. Lyon Jr. of Spearman; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
