Richard C. DeMott

Richard C. DeMott, 81, died Friday, May 3, 2002, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born April 9, 1921, in Indianapolis. His parents are Charles and Anna (Hague) DeMott. He married Mary (Bender) DeMott. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Larry DeMott of Greenwood; two brothers, Joseph A. DeMott of Indianapolis and David "Bud" DeMott of Greenwood; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert DeMott; and a sister, Inez DeMott Franchetto.

He was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator for 20 years, retiring in 1972.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Services will be private. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township. Arrangements are being handled by Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre, State Road 135 Chapel.
