FUNERAL RITES TO BE SATURDAY AFTERNOON; BURIAL AT ELMWOOD

Mrs. Zelinda May Hallock, 84, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lulu M. Gaffney, 1102 President Avenue southwest, late Thursday afternoon, following an illness of about 5 years.

Mrs. Hallock was born March 2, 1857 at Salem Wisconsin. She was one of a family of 12 children and moved with her parents to Mitchell County in 1877. Mrs. Hallock resided there about 40 years having come to Mason City in 1927. She had resided here since that time.

For many years she was a teacher in Mitchell County. She was married to Joseph Hallock, July 5, 1879 at Stacyville. He preceded her in death, February 17, 1931.

Mrs. Hallock was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, her local affiliation being with the Wesley Methodist Church. She was prominent in W.C.T.U work throughout the territory and also was a member of the Wayne Rebekah lodge of McIntire for 25 years.

Surviving Mrs. Hallock are her daughter; Mrs. Lula Gaffney, Mason City; two sons, Guy Hallock, Watertown, Wis.; and Ben Hallock, Fort Atkinson, Wis.; one brother, Frank Judd, Los Angeles, Cal.; and five grandchildren and eighty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hallock will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the chapel of the McAuley and Son Funeral Home with Doctor Paul Arnold Peterson of the Wesley Methodist church in charge. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery.
