Passed away Saturday in Lane House Nursing Home.

Daughter of Roscoe Matthias and Lillian Myrtle Lattimore Elmore. She was the granddaughter of James Buchanan Elmore, a Montgomery County poet known as "The Bard of Alamo" and Mary Ann Murray. She married L. Doyne Rush July 11, 1937. He died July 6, 1981. Survivors include two sons, Dean (Edith) rural Waynetown and Roscoe (Jacqueline) Kildeer, Illinois, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A brother, Norman M. Elmore is deceased.

1928 Colfax High School graduate.
Graduated of Indiana State Teachers College.

Mrs. Rush farmed for more than 40 years with her husband in the Alamo area. She was also a retired home economics, art and science teacher having taught at Graysville, Newtown and Alamo. She was also an artist and shared many of her oil paintings with her family.

Memberships included Alamo Christian Church, Alamo O.E.S. #498, and Alamo Ladies Aid. She was a past president of the Montgomery County Extension Homemakers and was the founder and charter member of the Alamo Extension Homemakers.

Funeral service 11am Saturday, April 16 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating.
Visitation 5-8pm Friday.

Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
