Mr. Charles Emerson entered late rest suddenly February 28 at 10:45 a.m. at U.S. Soldiers Home at Washington, D.C. at the age of 60 years and nineteen days. The deceased is survived by two brothers and sisters: Luther Emerson of Caldwell, Idaho; William Emerson of Safe, Missouri; Caroline Glenn of Vichy, Missouri, and Clementine Rush of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The deceased was laid to rest in the Rock Spring cemetery beside his mother. He was born and lived near St. James, MO, until entering the service of the U.S. army in 1892 at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, in which he served thirty years. The remainder of his life he spent in the U.S. Soldiers Home of Washington, D.C. He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge of St. James for many years. (From contributor, Judy Moore)
