ANTONE STYSKAL
Antone Styskal was born on
March 22, 1910 at Bruno. He was one of six children born to Joseph and Sophia (Sabata) Styskal. Tony grew up in the Bruno area, attending school through the 8th grade. Tony moved with his family to a farm north of Grant in 1929.
He was married to Ann Trojan at Ogallala on June 12, 1939. Tony and Ann maintained the farm home north of Grant until 1963 when they moved south of Elsie. After retirement in 1979, they moved to the present home in Grant. Ann died in June of 1991 and Tony continued to maintain his home until Saturday afternoon
October 26, 1991 when he suffered a fatal heart attack. He had reached the age of 81 years.
Tony was member of the Grant Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, had been a member of the Ogallala Elks, and while living north ofGrant, had served on the school board for Dist. 73.

In addition to his wife and parents, Tony was preceded in death by one brother - Cyril.
He is survived by 3 sons including Bill of Arvada, Colorado and Jim and Jerry - both of Grant. 1 daughter - Janie Ticknor of Arvada and 4 grand-children. 3 brothers including Jim and George of Grant and Joe of Scottsbluff; 1 sister - Agnes Jacob of David City and many other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited Tuesday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grant Mother of Sorrows
'Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, October 30 at
10:00 a.m. at the Grant Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Ed Valasck as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery with Bullock-Long in charge of services.
