Records held by the Grainger County Archives prove that besides his widow Rhoda, at his death James Moore had only two heirs: daughter Nancy H. Moore, who married Andrew Jackson McAnally; and daughter Amelia Ann Moore, who married William Godwin. They and their families, including James' widow Rhoda Grantham Moore, and except grandson Richard M. McAnally, all went to Missouri after 1850. Rhoda Moore is enumerated in the Godwin household there in 1860, so she probably died and is buried in Missouri, and not in Grainger County.
