THE DEATH OF JOSEPH JOHNSON
Joseph Johnson died last evening at 4:10 at the home of his son, Newton R. Johnson, one mile north of Stockwell. His death was caused by a complication of diseases. Mr. Johnson was born Oct 16, 1830, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson. He was the youngest of twelve children and was the last member of the family to die. He is survived by one son. The deceased was one of the best known and highly respected citizens of Lauramie Township. He was born and reared in that locality. He was a member of the Methodist church for over fifty years and had been Superintendent of the Salem Sunday school for sixteen years. He was a man of excellent character, upright and honest in all his dealings and was esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral will be conducted from the Stockwell Methodist church, to-morrow morning at 10"30 o'clock, and Rev. E. B. Smith will officiate. The interment will be made in the Johnson cemetery.
