DEATH NOTICE OF FERDINAND DE SLOOVER - Tuesday, 11 Feb. 1930 - East Moline Herald, p. 1, c. 3.

DeSlo[o]ver Passes at St. Anthony's Hospital Today

Complications of the heart caused the death of Ferdinand De Slo[o]ver, 1347[-]1/2 Eighteenth avenue, at St. Anthony's hospital in Rock Island at 5:30 o'clock this morning. He was 73 years of age.

He was born in Belgium in 1857, and was married there to Julia Roze [sic]. They came to America forty years ago, settling in Moline. They lived in East Moline at various periods and also farmed for many years at Ricefield [sic - Riceville], IA. Mrs. De Slo[o]ver died in 1917.

Surviving are three sons, Alfons[e] of this city and Victor and Ernest of Ricefield [sic - Riceville]; also two daughters, Mrs. Cantellis Landuit [sic - Landuyt] of Belle Plain[e], Ia., and Mrs. Mary Martens of Potterville, Mich. A brother in Belgium also survives.

The body is at the Van Hoe funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at St. Mary's church at 3:30 tomorrow evening and funeral services will be at 8 a. m. Thursday from St. Mary's church. The body will be sent to Ricefield [sic - Riceville] for burial.
