Thomas M. Bean, age 87, of Hammond, IN, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004, at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eula Mae; five children; Garry (Becky) Bean, Chuck (Melody) Bean, Norma (Randy) Running, Dorothy Gill and Patty Smith, all of Hammond; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters; Trixie Groce and Mable Barnes of Lynchburg, TN, Emma Brown and Vaughn Shilds of Fayetteville, TN.
Friends are invited to call at the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hessville, IN, on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
Mr. Bean will then be removed to the Jenning Funeral Home in Lynchburg, TN, where final visitation and services will be conducted by Rev. Bob Parnell of the Black Oak Baptist Church officiating.
Burial to follow at the Lynchburg Cemetery, Lynchburg, TN.
Mr. Bean was a WWII U.S. Army Disabled P.O.W. who was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired in 1981 after 25 years as a Supervisor for the City of Hammond Sewer Department.
