Funeral services for Mrs. Vaughn B. Shields, age 85, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday evening, April 20, 2009 in the Huntsville Hospital conducted in the chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Godbee & Bro. Don Gatlin officiating.
Burial in the Booneville Cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County, TN, the daughter of the late M.A. & Delia Brooks Bean.
She was a retired seamstress for Serbin Fashions and worked several years for Sirs Fabric and was a charter member of Brown Teal Road Baptist Church where her late husband was the first Minister.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years J.D. Shields; sisters: Nell Cunningham, Mabel Barnes and Emma Brown; brothers: Malcolm, Morgan & Thomas Bean; half-sisters: Ona Preston and Artie Bailey; and half-brothers: Dewey and Dillard Bean; and a great-great-grandson: Jackson Lamb.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Diane Fowler of Ardmore, AL, Brenda Bradford & husband: John of Chapel Hill, TN; and son: Timothy Shields & wife: Patsy of Howell, TN; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; 1 sister: Trixie Groce of Lynchburg, TN.
