Lindsey Ellis Martin, born April 20, 1915, departed this life on Dec. 5th, 2002. Born in Colin County, Texas, to Opie and Susie Martin, raised in Caddo, Oklahoma. Lindsey graduated from college 1939, completed his law degree in 1944 and received his Juris Doctorate in 1970 all from the University of Oklahoma. He was admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court in 1952. Lindsey retired in 1997 from a 45 year career with the Federal Government as an Administrative Law Judge. Lindsey was an avid and loyal OU fan, a Lifetime member of the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association, dedicated member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. Preceded in death by his son, David O. Martin. Lindsey is survived by his loving wife, LaVeta Martin, his four daughters and their spouses, Margaret Martin and Pat Riley of Durango Colorado, Holly and Lester Bockow of Columbia South Carolina, Marilee and Tim Murphy of Vernon Hills, Illinois, Bette and Paul Burnett of Oklahoma City, and his son Brad Martin of Oklahoma City. Also survived by grandchildren, Lauren Bockow, Margo Kailey and Molly Murphy, Kyle and Kevin Burnett, nephew Terry Martin, and niece, Lynda Toms and families.
