She was the second of eight children born to Orlando Clinton McKnight (1895-1963) and Ida Belle Romans (1890-1932), who were married in 1914 in Mingo County, West Virginia. The marriage license is dated 4 November 1914. Her mother had a daughter by an earlier relationship with Strother Ezra P. Little (1877-1941) who was named Estella Myrtle Little. Estella used her stepfather's name after Ida married Orlando.

Her siblings were as follows :
1) Clifford McKnight (13 Feb 1915 in West Virginia-12 Aug 1989 in Crab Orchard, Raleigh, West Virginia.)
2) Henry Lee McKnight (17 March 1919 in Wayne County, West Virginia-12 June 1983 in Williamson, Mingo, West Virginia.) He married Pearldene Scott (1921-1973)
3) Ruby Avnell McKnight (26 April 1921 in Nolan, Mingo, West Virginia-21 January 1992 in Portsmouth, Scioto, Ohio). She married Charles Ernest Meredith (1916-1990).
4) Ruth McKnight (c. 1923 in West Virginia- ).
5) Eugene McKnight, twin of Evaline (3 June 1926 in West Virginia-10 August 1984 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois). He married Violet Jean Whitlock (1932-2004) on 18 August 1960 in Cook County, Illinois.
6) Evaline McKnight, twin of Eugene (3 June 1926 in West Virginia- ).
7) Jim McKnight (c. 1929 in West Virginia - ).

Trudy had a child with Major General William Warren Cobb (1917-2007). There was a complex story of this liaison. If interested, the reader can see their profiles on Wikitree. Her only child is William Warren Cobb who is living.

She lived in Dobbs Ferry, Westchester, New York with the Boschen family for almost 20 years. The entire family moved to Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego, California in 1957 where the Boschens had built a new home. This is where she met Ernie Wade as he was part of the carpentry crew. They married on 21 June 1968 in Carson City, Nevada. This was Ernie's 2nd marriage. Ernie and Trudy lived in Escondido, California until they moved to Marysville, Yuba, California.
After a few years they returned to California to help Dr. Boschen as she aged.

Upon the death of Mr. Boschen, Trudy and Ernie moved with the rest of the family to a new large property in Valley Center, San Diego, California. They lived there on a separate parcel until they both died.

This is written by Trudy's first daughter-in-law who found her to be the most amazing, wise, loving person. She died of Tuberculosis which she had probably contracted as a child in West Virginia. Trudy is missed by everyone who ever had the honor of knowing her.
