Born in Collin County on June 4, 1868, Cryer has been a resident of Denton County almost all his life. He was married to Sarah Agnes Meredith in Denton on October 15, 1893 and was a member of the Central Baptist Church here.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Schertz, Mrs. R. L. Payne of Denton; Mrs. George Burkett of Decatur; Mrs. A. M. Erwin of Denton; Mrs. O. L. Thomas of Roanoke and Mrs. A. F. Smith of Seattle, Washington; two sons, Dan Cryer of Fort Worth and Dave Cryer of Los Alamos, New Mexico; 27 grandchildren and 18 Great grandchildren and a brother George Cryer of Denton.
