Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday in the Central Baptist Church for Francis Taylor Cryer, 81, of Roanoke, who died here Thursday. Rev. Loys Vess officiated and burial was in the Cooper Creek Cemetery under the direction of Jack Schmitz and Sons.
Pallbearers were Ernest Thomas, Donald Brearley, Douglas Brearley, A. M. Erwin, Bennie Cryer and Herbert Sangers.
Born in Collin County on June 4, 1868, Cryer has been a resident of Denton County almost all his life. He was married to Sarah Agnes Meredith in Denton on October 15, 1893 and was a member of the Central Baptist Church here.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Schertz, Mrs. R. L. Payne of Denton; Mrs. George Burkett of Decatur; Mrs. A. M. Erwin of Denton; Mrs. O. L. Thomas of Roanoke and Mrs. A. F. Smith of Seattle, Washington; two sons, Dan Cryer of Fort Worth and Dave Cryer of Los Alamos, New Mexico; 27 grandchildren and 18 Great grandchildren and a brother George Cryer of Denton.
